Neelapu Satyanarayana (48), a sanitation worker of Kakinada Municipal Corporation, on Thursday, washed away in the underground drainage at Nagamallithota Jn in Kakinada. According to sources, Satyanarayana has stepped into the drainage culvert for the purpose of cleaning, along with three other sanitation workers. At some distance, they were experienced a typical situation as they were unable to take breathe. Immediately, the three workers returned, but Satyanarayana was stucked in the drainage culvert. Those three workers tried to take him out, but there is no use, so immediatley they have complained to the KMC officials, who informed the police and fire department officials. Rescue operations were launched to retrieve the worker from the drain. Finally, after 5hours, he was saved and taken to nearby private hospital for treatment. District Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad, Rural MLA Mr. Kannababu, DSP Mr. Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy and others observed the rescue operations.
