Jobs for non-Hindus in temples

Kakinada, June 17th: In a one day visit to East Godavari, the minister for endowments, stamps and registration, Mr. Gade Venkata Reddy said that non-Hindus were also eligible for employment in Hindu temples in the state. Speaking to the media persons at the temple town of Annavaram on Wednesday, the minister spoke on several issues, including security arrangements at major temples, leasing of temple land and development of Annavaram shine Lord Satyanarayana Swamy.

 

Mr. Reddy said that in wake of the security threats from militants, security was beefed up at Tirumala and special security arrangements were being made at various other major temples in the state which included the Annavaram Temple. The minister also said that special care was being taken for the protection of temple land in the state from encroachment. He revealed that the leasing of temple land to small, marginal and tenant farmers will be continued for the present year with 10 percent hike over the previous year and fresh auctions will be done next year.
