JNTUK tie up with Microsoft

Kakinada, Nov 12 : The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) has signed an agreement with Microsoft India on Thursday to offer the Microsoft Dream spark programme- a free software giving access to over 2,00,000 students spread over to 226 affiliated engineering colleges across eight districts in Andhra Pradesh. The JNTUK Registrar Prof V Ravindra and Microsoft India representative Mr. Phani Kondepudi signed the agreement at a simple function held at the university campus.

Under this agreement, JNTUK students will be offered free academic software licensing. Describing the agreement as a boon to the engineering students, the Vice Chancellor Prof Allam Apparao said they would have free access to the latest IT tools and software which give them the competitive edge and help in preparing for future endeavors. Given the ever challenging tasks and increasing aspirations, today’s students have to be familiar with the most advanced tools and technologies available in the world in order to achieve their goals, he said.
