Kakinada, Jan 1st: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) is going to introduce the concept of zones of excellence in all the districts from Prakasam to Srikakulam. For the maximum utilization of the skills developed the program will be implemented as ‘smart operating model’ for the university and its affiliated colleges.
The recently appointed strategic consultants of the university have developed this program. The planning exercise that was taken up in October 2008 has come to an end and will give the formal plan by March 2009. The motto behind the zone of excellence was to utilize skills and infrastructure available in the university and its affiliated colleges in all the 8 districts.
According to Prof. Allam Appa Rao, the university is putting efforts to develop the university into a world class institution. As a part of effective implementation, special emphasis is being made on three areas. These include making degree and post graduation courses, developing research activities through individuals and partnerships. A series of workshops will be conducted to reach these goals, Prof. Appa Rao said.
