Kakinada, June 21st: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada was granted permission to start a new B.Tech course in Petroleum Engineering from this academic year. It is also going to start full time MBA course in its school of management studies. The new course was aimed at meeting the man power requirement of the oil and gas exploration companies which are already into large scale operations in the Krishna-Godavari basin.
Speaking to the media persons here on Sunday, University vice chancellor, Mr. Allam Apparao said that they have taken the decision to offer the petroleum course with the surging demand for specialists in exploration and production of petroleum and its products. The MBA course was launched with the similar perspective.
Speaking about the counseling of Eamcet and Icet-2009, Mr. Rao said that web counseling will be held from first week of July for which prior registration is required. For further details the students can call the web counseling coordinator, S. Srinivasa Kumar through phone 9440144187. This is the first time the university is introducing web counseling to take students to engineering courses.
