M.Tech Student of JNTU-K, Mandan Shekar ended his life on 6th of February due to family financial problems. According to his friends, Shekar who belongs to Nalagonda District lost his father recently due to Cancer disease. Last year, friends of Shekar collected Rs.2 Lakhs amount for the treatment, but his father could not survive after operation. Shekar’s mother was also suffering from ill health after husband’s death. Somehow, Shekar always wanted to maintain his family by completing M.Tech. Due to worsened situations of financial problems in family, he was not able to concentrate on his education. Shekar came under pressure and consumed poison. After consuming poison, he telephoned to one of this friend, said ‘I could not achieve anything in my life’, and disconnected his phone. His friend suspected and immediately rushed to Shekar’s room. Shekar’s friends took him to hospital immediately but he could not survive. Shekar’s mother was in tears listening to the news of her son’s death.
