Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTU-K) has grandly observed its Third Convocation, here on Thursday.  It was started at around Morning 11 AM at Alumni Auditorium in the University campus. A total 87,855 degrees were awarded at this convocation, 48 gold medals and other eight endowment gold medals and two cash awards were awarded to the candidates, who achieved academic excellence in various disciplines. The Satish Dhawan Space Research Centre (SHAR) Director, Dr. M.Y.S. Prasad has presided over the program as a chief guest. He was awarded the honorary doctorate at the convocation. Speaking at the convocation, JNTU-K Vice Chancellor Dr. G.Tulasi Ram Das has stated that the university is planning for e-learning and online courses on par with universities of international repute like MIT, USA and IITs. He said that the university grew horizontally by offering large variety of courses, 18 Under Graduates and above Post Graduate courses to 2.5 Lakh students, of affiliated colleges and two constituency colleges. He said that the university is strong and deep foundation, which can reach greater heights. Later, addressing the students, Dr. M.Y.S.Prasad has given the speech. University Registrar Dr. G.V.R.Prasad Raju, Rector Dr. E.V.Prasad, other Directors, Principals, Staff, Students, Parents and many others were attended the convocation.
