JNTU gets nod for new courses

Kakinada, July 25th: The board of the studies of JNTU- Kakinada has cleared five new courses in the undergraduate program in the university from next academic year. These include clinical research, bio-informatics, nano technology, bio-nano IT and food technology. Addressing a board meeting here on Saturday, the Adikavi Nannaya University vice chancellor and Chair man of board of studies in English Prof K.Nirupa Rani exhorted the faculty to create interest among students on subjects like culture, ethics and morals, while teaching in class room.

Nirupa Rani reminded the language plays a key role for engineering student in securing jobs within the country and abroad. She says there was a need to develop communications skills, especially among students coming from rural areas, as more number of them was opting for engineering with the introduction of fee reimbursement. Addressing the gathering JNTU-Kakinada VC, Porf. Allam Appa Rao, said that these new courses are being taken up to restore and improve urban infrastructure. The VC observed that major challenge for infrastructure engineering will be not only to devise new approaches and methods, but also to communicate their value and worthiness to society at large.
