JNTU extends consultancy services

Kakinada, June 7th: The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU-K), which aims to improve its academic standards on par with world class universities, is extending its services in the field of quality control to various public and private sector organizations. These include Polavaram and Pushkaram irrigation projects. The Bureau of Industrial Consultancy Services (BICS) under the JNTU has been extending its services to various reputed organizations.

 

BICS has already extended its services to both Rajahmundry and Kakinada municipal corporations to inspect the civil works taken up in the respective corporations in the past decade. It has also assessed the quality of works for the Polavaram project main canal systems, in addition to civil works of the Pushkara lift irrigation scheme. In the form of consultancy fees the BICS has earned Rs 2.20 crore in the last three years. According to the BICS director and chief engineer of JNTU-K, Dr. G. Yesuratnam the BICS has toned up its activities in the last one year with the support of the university VC, Mr. Allam Apparao, thought they were extending its services to other organizations.
