Kakinada, April 12th: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada has entered into a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with the Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for the establishment of Electro Optics Laboratory in the university premises on Sunday. Agreement was jointly signed by the university registrar, V. Ravindra and BEL director, I.V Sharma under the presence of JNTU vice chancellor, Mr. Allam Apparao and chairman & managing director of BEL, Mr. V.V.R Sastry.
On the occasion, V.V.R Sastry revealed that BEL has sanctioned Rs 60 lakh for the purpose and said that the main aim of entering the agreement was to generate skilled man power for the future needs of the university by giving training to JNTU Kakinada faculty. CMD also said that the JNTU faculty and BEL will explore areas of mutual interest. Mr. Apparao revealed that the university is also going to introduce optional subjects in elctro optics in under graduate courses from 2009-10 academic year.
