IT park inaugurated at Vijayawada

Vijayawada, Jan 28th: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah inaugurated the first phase of Information Technology (IT) Park, a joint venture company of L and T Info city Limited and APICC at Kesarpalli, on Jan 28. The IT Park, located on a 30 acre plot, is now all set to transform Vijayawada city into a modern IT destination.

The L and T and APIIC commenced the construction of the IT park about five years ago at an expected outlay of Rs 425 crore. It will generate employment for 15,000 IT professionals directly and 45,000 personnel indirectly. The Chief Minister inaugurated the building 'Medha' as part of the first phase project, constructed at a cost of Rs 70 crore. It will provide immediate employment to 3,000 IT professionals.

Vijayawada region has an excellent nearly one lakh graduates, including 13,500 engineers from 35 engineering colleges and 2,600 MCA graduates from 46 colleges passing out annually. The Hi-tech city is just 20 minutes drive from the heart of the city. It is well connected to the rest of the country by rail, road and air. The Project has a complement of world class infrastructure that includes three lane roads, uninterrupted power supply, centralized air-conditioning system, office automation, landscape and communications from all major service providers.
