Kakinada, March 18^th: Chief election officer, Dr. I.V Subba Rao ordered the returning officer and the East Godavari district collector, Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwevedi to complete the process of issuing photo identity cards to the voters in the district by March 23^rd. A video conference was organized by him to all the district collectors and SP’s on Wednesday from Hyderabad. In this meeting issues relating to issue of photo ID cards, maintenance of law and order, removal of unauthorized belt shops and many more were discussed.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Subba Rao asked the collectors to strictly implement the election commission’s directions and see that no code violation takes place during the time of elections. He revealed that first schedule of election notification will be announced on March 23 and by the time the issue of photo identity cards to be completed. He ordered to complete the first level verification of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) by March 25^th.

Mr. Subba Rao also reviewed over the belt shops. He asked the police and excise officers to take action for the immediate closure of the belt shops and send him the details about the action taken on the same. He also asked the collectors to take action on the complaints received to the help line number 1100 about the code violation and ordered to send concerned SP’s to take action on the trouble makers and poll code violators immediately. After the announcement of the code nearly 45 complaints were received and action on 39 was already taken, Dwevedi revealed.
