New Delhi, Oct14th: Foreign affaires minister Shiva Shankar Menon and the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) CEO Rama Dorai made a deal in providing the Passport with in three days, and the Tatkal Passport with in the day of registration. This is to overcome the delay in issuing the Passports. The government has paid nearly one crore to the software company for this deal. Project after becoming live, Passport will be issued with in 3 days by completing the police formalities.
In the partnership of private and public sectors the government will examine the issues relating to certificates, and address enquires. TCS will set up nearly 77 online Passport counters through which they examine the other issues. Police enquiry related issues will reach the Passport offices through on line. Passport counters will increase from 345 to 1250 and Passport offices from 52 to 92.
The government officers will involve in issuing the passport, printing and the postal work. This project will come into live from March 2009 in Bangalore and Chandigar. By 2010 this will become a full pledged project.
