The District-level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee meeting was held, here on Saturday under the observation of Union Minister of Human Resources Development Mr. M.M.Pallam Raju at Collectorate Vidhan Gowtami hall in Kakinada. Most of the MLA's, MLC's, MP's and District Ministers were absent to this meeting, but some agitations had taken place in the meet. Sources said, the Misappropriation of funds worth around Rs.12 crores in the irrigation department came to light. Minister Mr. Thota Narasimham brought this to the notice of the Union Minister Mr. M.M.Pallam Raju in this meeting. Mr. Narasimham alleged that though the works were not done, the officials paid bills for 50 works in Gokavaram, Sitanagaram and Korukonda Mandals. He said, 'that he had informed the same to the officials in the last month, but there is no action was taken till now'. He questioned all the respective officials in the meet. Mr. Narasimham and other MLA's expressed their anger over the SE and EE of Yeleru Reservoir for not attending the meeting. Many other project details were discussed in this meeting. Mr. Pallam Raju has reviewed about the works of Housing Corporation, Rural Water Supply, Panchayati Raj, DRDA, SSA & ITDA departments. He ordered the officials to complete all the works soon. District Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari and other respective department officials attended the meeting.
