Various Government and private organization here grandly celebrated International Women’s day on Tuesday. District Collector’s wife, Ms. Padmavathi Ravichandra said that the women have the power to do any thing in the world. As part of the celebrations organized by District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) at Uppada Nemam Beach. She stressed the need of empowering the women in this globalized world. The day was observed by conducting many competitions. Wife of Superintendent of Police, Ms. Syamala and other women participated in this program.

The women’s day celebrations were also organized at Collectorate, Kakinada. The District Women Development and Child Welfare department has organized a meeting on women progresses at Gowthami meeting hall. Additional Joint Collector, Mr. Ramarao presided as a chief guest over the meeting. Addressing the meeting, Mr. Ramarao stressed the role of women in the present world. He appreciated the present day women for their involvement in all achievements of the world and said there is a need to educate women in Rural areas. Speaking on this, Ideal College Correspondent Smt. P.Chiranjeevini Kumari stated that when all the women will be together and help each other, then no other would stop their success. Huge number of women were participated in this meeting.
