Kakinada, Mar 10th: Intermediate first year public exams began peacefully in the East Godavari District on Wednesday with few complaints here and there. The exam was conducted in Telugu, Sanskrit, Hindi and Urdu subjects from 8am to 11pm. Out of 46,992 students allotted to appear for the exam in the EG district, only 43, 573 appeared for the exam while the remaining 3, 419 students remained absent. Out of the 120 centers no case of malpractice was administered. Besides this there were complaints of poor amenities including lack of potable water supply, toilets and desks and benches at several centers. The power failures were also noticed in few places. The authorities made all arrangements to conduct exam peacefully under tight security by imposing 144 section.
