Inauguration of girls Griggs competitions in district

Ambajipeta, Nov 25th: Inauguration of Amalapuram zone and Central zone girls Griggs competitions has taken place at Ambajipeta in East Godavari on Tuesday. Zilla parishat Chairman has inaugurated the function and Amalapuram MLA Kudupudi Chittabbai has lit the sports torch.

Speaking on the occasion Chairman said that that they were making special efforts to promote the sports and provide facilities for the development of skills in the sports persons. On this occasion he assured to develop sports complexes at a cost of 1 crore. He also said that as East Godavari was selected under “World Sports Talent Scheme”, for which the necessary developments should be done.

MLC, Mr Gidugu Rudraraju said that special training will be given to the sports persons for the development of the skills for which nearly 6 lakh will be spent annually. “Special courts for the basket ball will also be constructed very soon”, he added. He also said that the sports persons should do regular exercise and maintain discipline to improve their performance.
