State Bank of India (SBI) General Manager (Network-II, Hyderabad LHO) T.S. Krishna Swamy inaugurated Kakinada Regional Business Office (RBO) here on Saturday. The RBO is aimed at facilitating quick decisions without depending on Visakhapatnam zonal office. SBI branches in Kakinada region used to face difficulties in processing business transactions through the zonal office. Mr. Krishna Swamy while addressing media persons said customers will no longer feel inconvenient on this. The RBO promises to sort out any customer issue within 72 hours of an SMS being sent to the number 8008202020. The bank's LHO at Hyderabad will give the initial guidance to the customer about the means to get his/her complaint given. The problems will be mostly solved on the same day or a maximum of three days. It will be a Web–based interface with the customers that enables speedy settlements. As at the end of March 31, 2010, the SBI (Kakinada Region) has mobilized deposits amounting to Rs 1,184 Cr and advanced Rs 1,643 Cr to different segments Rs 678 Cr to businesses, Rs 434 Cr to the agriculture sector and self-help groups and Rs 531 Cr to the retail segment. The bank forecast a growth of 27 to 30 percent in the current year.
