Kakinada, Dec 30th: Andhra Pradesh State Aids Control Society (APSACS) had organized an implementation program for the control of Aids in the state. The APSACS director Dr. R. V Chandravadan has conducted the meeting at the Kakinada government hospital on Tuesday.
Speaking to the media persons, he showed concern about the rise of Aids cases in the state in the year 2008 compared to the previous year. He assured to take effective measures to prevent and control the Aids in the state. He also revealed that a committee will be visiting the hospital in the month of January for taking up more programs in the state.
He said that the society has taken up anti retro viral therapy block in Kakinada and were planning to establish the same in Rajahmundry, Amalapuram, Peddapuram and Rampachodavaram areas with in two to three months. To extend the present ART block the project director has handed over a cheque of Rs10 Lakh to the hospital superintendent Dr. M.B R Sharma.
