Hyderabad, May 24th: The results of IIT-JEE will be announced today. All over the state nearly 60,000 students attended the exam that was conducted on April 12. Qualifying candidates will be informed by post and called for identity verification in order of their national merit. For the available 9,000 seats nearly 4 lakh students are competing this year. Last year 3.12 students appeared for the exam making the competition a little bit less.
For the qualifying students the admissions will be done in seven old IITs and 8 new IITs apart from the Indian School of Mines University, Dhanbad and Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (IT-BHU). Last year six new IITs including IIT-Hyderabad started operations adding 720 seats. Each new IIT has 120 seats with 40 seats each in Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
