Hyderabad, Sep 6th: Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, son of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister late Y S Rajsekhara Reddy on Sunday said he would abide by the decision of the Congress High Command on the issue of successor of his father and appealed to the party workers and leaders not to resort to signature campaigns, even as Dr Reddy's loyalists were demanding the party High Command to make his son and party MP, as Chief Minister and disrupted the condolence meeting at party headquarters.

In a statement here, Mr. Jagan said he would follow the footsteps of his father while discharging his duties as a loyal and disciplined Congress worker. ''We are all members of a big Congress family, which has a long history and tradition of 125 years. It is our good fortune to be members of this great family, that has not only brought freedom for our country, but also institutionalized democracy in our country'', he added.

He said, ''Congress workers know that it is the tradition of our party to leave the decision of leadership to the high command and our beloved leader and AICC President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi.'' ''I request you to await the decision of our beloved leader Sonia Gandhi on the issue of leadership and also urge you to abide by the decision,'' he added.
