Kakinada, Jan 16th: National Ex-servicemen Coordination Committee has organized hunger strike demanding to allot housing plots under GO 743. Ex-service men welfare organization has organized strike at district collectorate on Friday. The committee has decided to go for hunger strike till the government look after the issue.
The association members alleged that the government is neglecting the issue even after many appeals made by them. Speaking on the occasion they demanded the government to sanction 5 acers of land to all the ex-servicemen under the GO released by the government in 1963.
They said that, they have filed a rit in the high court in 2003 and the court has given verdict in favour of them in 2005. They alleged that the revenue department is showing negligence over the issue even after the verdict given by the court. They asked the district collector to look over the issue and do justice for them.
