Ravulapalem, June 2nd: Housing deputy executive engineer, Mr. Myla Lakshmana Swamy was caught redhanded by the sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau while accepting bribes worth Rs 2,000 from an Indiramma housing beneficiary on Monday. He was working as DE in Kothapeta. A case was booked and the official will be produced before the ACB court in Vijayawada.
According to the ACB, GSN Murthy, one Mr. Kandregula Srinivasa Rao hailing from Mallaidoddi of Ravulapalem Mandal was sanctioned a house under Indiramma housing scheme five months ago. He was given with 20 bags of cement by the authorities of housing board for construction of house. After completion of house he approached the authorities to release the funds.
Lakshmana swamy demanded a bribe of Rs 3,000 to sanction the bill. Rao approached the ACB for help. With the directions given by ACB, Rao fixed a deal to pay Rs 2,000. He went to office of housing board official and handed over the money to him. Meanwhile ACB raided the office and caught him redhanded.
