Amalapuram MP Mr. G.V.Harsha Kumar along with the District Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad has inaugurated the wooden jetty, which is constructed with Rs.21 Lakh at Hope Island, here on Thursday. Speaking on this, MP said, 'we decided to develop Hope Island as an International Tourist Destination and as part of this, we launched jetty'. According to this, the district officials sent proposals to the Centre for Water Sports and Beach Resorts at a cost of Rs.5 Crore at Hope Island, he added. Later, he distributed 18 Solar lamps to fishermen through NEDCAP. The NEDCAP also arranged a new television set which runs on solar power at a cost of Rs.60,000 at the island. “Hope Island will be made an International Tourism spot. Government will provide all necessary infrastructure for the project to attract tourists”, stated by MP Mr. Harsha Kumar in this program. Later, he spoke to local fisherman and their children.
