JNTU College of Engineering opened Honeywell Training School in its premises this Wednesday. Participating in the inaugural function, Vice Chancellor Prof. Allam Appa Rao said that engineering students could get better opportunities only when they are able to fulfill the requirements of the current job market. He said that the training school would help engineering students from the State. Prof. Appa Rao said the training school was being set up with the help of the alumni of the JNTU-K. “The old students are ready to contribute to this training school. They are ready to guide the students on how to prepare resume and attend the job interviews,” he added. Vice Chancellor expressed happiness over the involvement of the MNC Honeywell in this project. The school was set up with a expenditure of Rs. 30 lakh and aimed at providing training to 50 students at one go he explained. “Honeywell agreed to provide a scholarship of Rs. 16,000 each to the students, who are undergoing training here. Efforts are on to increase the amount to Rs. 25,000,” he added. Engineering students from all affiliated colleges of 8 districts will be benefited with this training school. Speaking on this training school Director Ramayya said that until now nearly 1100 students were trained in their school. There are strict rules to be followed in their school and latest technology will be updated regularly he added. World wide they are 800 patents for their school. Director of this company Mr. Senthil Nathan said that this school would definitely help in improving skills of engineering students. This is the 14th training center in country he added. In this program, Engineering College Principal Dr.EV Prasad, College Placement Officer Venkat Reddy, Registrar V.Ravindra and others were present.
