Hyderabad, Aug 30th: The state government will bring two toll free numbers into operation from Monday facilitating individuals to seek drought relief. The numbers are 1100, to which people can call from BSNL landlines and 1800425110, which is available from any mobile. Individual complaints relating to drought including scarcity of drinking water, fodder, seeds, employment and fertilizers can be lodged on these numbers. The government has fixed a 24-hour deadline from the receipt of complaint by the field level official concerned to address the grievance.
The relief commissioner, Mr. Dinesh Kumar and the special officer, Mr. N. Balasubrahmanyam on Sunday reviewed the arrangements made for recipe of complaints through the numbers. The complaint will be simultaneously sent to the district collector, special officer and the official of the department concerned. The receipt of complaint will be acknowledged through an SMS. The field level officials will also be communicated through cellphone and given 24 hours to attend to the problem.
