Heavy rains predicted

Hyderabad, Sep 29th: Hyderabad and other Telangana districts are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall on Wednesday following the formation of a well marked low pressure over west central Bay of Bengal. Isolated heavy to very heavy showers are expected at Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari districts. Director of Hyderabad Meteorological Center, Dr. M. Satya Kumar said that low pressure is very active over west central Bay of Bengal. This may cause moderate to heavy rainfall in Telangana and North Andhra districts.

Kadapa, Nandyal, Alampur, Ichapuram, Wanaparthy received heavy rainfall up to 9 cm since Monday. However, both Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh received deficit rainfall during the south west monsoon which comes to an end on September 30. Coastal Andhra received 377.6 mm of rainfall against 533.6 mm while Telangana received 436 mm against 728 mm in the last four months. Rayalaseema is relatively in a better position with three per cent deficit.
