The incessant heavy rainfall from past 4days in the district causing hardships to the residents. Under the influence of low area formation in Bay of Bengal, the district received heavy rainfall in these days. It was expected that the heavy rains to be continued for coming 24hrs in the district, as per the weather report. The heavy rainfall recorded as above 15cm in many areas in the district here on Friday. But the district administration has failed to take necessary actions to protect the residents, it seems. Many of the residents in the low-lying areas faced harship because the water entered to their homes. Water lodged in many areas in the district. Several homes flooded, trees uprooted and roads are totally damaged due to these heavy rains. Movement of vehicles was severely hit in many areas. These rains were caused extensive damage to the farming community. There was a huge crop loss in the district. Many people & also the animals were became helpless in the district. Sources said, the district administration has launched 15 rehabilitation centers in the district for the flood victims on Friday. But they have not provided food & other amenities in time. Also some of the centers were closed by the evening. It seems that the government has failed to provide rehabilitation to the victims. However, the heavy rains lashed the entire district. The flood victims requesting the government to save them by providing food & shulter.
