District Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad had released a press note about the loss which has occurred due to the 5-days heavy rains in the district. Speaking on this, she said there was a heavy crop loss occurred in the district due to these heavy rains. she has stated that around 96,126 Hectares paddy fields were damaged in the district due to these rains. Meanwhile, 5,772 garden plants and 9,226 hectares cotton fields were also damaged in the district, she added. A total 2,998 houses were damaged and many trees were uprooted in the district. 14 sheeps were died. 697.6 km wide R&B roads and 485 km wide Panchayati roads were severely damaged due to these heavy rains in the district, she said. Loss occurred for a total of 57 heavy, medium & small Water management systems in the district. As many as 52,995 flood victims from low-lying areas were sent to 141 rehabilitation centers in the district. 76,914 food packets were supplied to all those victims, she added.
