The arrest of Social Activist Anna Hazare along with several of his supporters by Delhi police drew critcism from a cross section of society in East Godavari District on Tuesday. According to this, a large number of youth, students, politicians, senior citizens and other public took out rallies from different places in Kakinada supporting social activist Anna Hazare.
Several Youths, Political Parties, Voluntary Organizations gathered under the banner of "India against Corruption" here in support of Hazare while shouting slogans against the central government took out a march here from Nagamallithota Jn to Bhanugudi Jn in Kakinada.
District Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP) organized a rally from Gandhi Nagar to Raja Tank in Kakinada. Later, they have submitted an appeal letter to Bapuji Statue at Vivekananda park premises. Speaking on this, BJP District President, Mr. Yenimireddy Malakondaiah stated that Government failed on taking action on corruption.
District Telugu Desam Party also organized a rally from TDP party office to Main road area in Kakinada. Later, speaking with media persons, TDP Party Kakinada President, Mr. Dusarlapudi Ramana Raju said, “Police action against Anna is completely unconstitutional and the people of India are with Hazare to support anti-corruption bill”.
