Kakinada, Oct 8th: The Government General Hospital has acquired equipment worth about Rs 75 lakhs including a bio-chemical analyzer, a three-dimensional colour Doppler and a paediatric ventilator. It has also got a donation of Rs 80 lakhs from AMG International for procurement of a CT scanner by the end of current year. Besides, six dialysis machines are being purchased for treatment of kidney ailments.
Superintendent MBR Sarma said the A.P State AIDS Control Society and Clinton Foundation have released Rs 10 lakhs and Rs 5 lakhs respectively for renovation of ART centre. Other major items purchased are two ventilators costing Rs 7.91 lakhs, 14 pulse oximeters, three syringe infusion pumps and two horizontal high-pressure sterilizers. A mineral water plant is being donated by Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited Managing Director K.S. Raju and Joint Managing Director Rahul Raju.
