Kakinada Rural, Oct 22nd: All the government schools including primary schools, high schools, Panchayat raj schools and aided schools in both East and West Godavari districts remained closed due to strike conducted by the Jacto members demanding the government to provide better working conditions.
PRTU demanded for unified services, promotions, transfer of the teachers and the vice president of PRTU said that they will not give up the strike until the government considers their demands. “There should not be any discrimination between the government and Panchayat raj teachers”, he added.
Jacto members demanded for the recruitments of nearly 40,000 vacant teacher posts and 30,000 teachers were looking forward for promotions. The executive posts like MEOs, deputy DEOs and others are vacant for several years in these districts as no recruitments were done till now.
As a part of Jacto strike Dharna was conducted at Rural Mandal Parishat Office on Wednesday. UTF members P.Prasad, V.Thirdharam, STU members prakash, Nageswara Rao, PRTU members S.Venkateswara Rao, B.Nooka Raju took part in Dharna.
