Hyderabad, June 15th: To assist the advocate general of Andhra Pradesh High Court, the state government for the first time created two posts of additional advocate generals. Mr. A. Sudersan Reddy, president of AP High Court Bar Association and Mr. A. Satya Prasad, special government pleader were appointed as additional advocate generals. Mr. Satya from East Godavari district began his practice in the High Court in 1984. Mr. Reddy is a law graduate from Osmania University and he began his career as an advocate in 1983.
This was the decision taken by the government in the backdrop of facing an embarrassing situation due to series of adverse judgments in the High Court. The top brass were of the view that the government was not able to represent its cases effectively. Apart from these two posts, the government also issued orders appointing 29 advocates as government pleaders. The government has decided to continue the services of 19 existing government pleaders out of 29 posts.
