Hyderabad, August 2nd: The senior Praja Rajyam leader, Mr. T. Devendra Goud is set to quit the party and join Telugu Desam Party along with other leaders on Monday. He met the TD chief, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday and decided to announce his resignation from the PR on Monday.
A crucial meeting of around 20 leaders is being organized at Mr. Goud’s house where they will announce their decision to joint TD. Many of them have contested in the recent elections. In the recently concluded general elections, Mr. Goud contested on PR ticket from Malkajgiri Lok Sabha seat and Ibrahimpatnam Assembly seat and was defeated from both places. Though he was defeated he actively involved in the policy decisions taken by the party.
Mr Goud took the decision to quit the party saying that there is no future for the party. The PR leaders including the chief Mr. Chiranjeevi and Allu Aravind tried in vain to convince him that he would be given importance in future too. Having tremendous pressure from the followers of Mr. Goud to quit the party, he decided to do so. The PR leaders opined that his exit will have little impact on the party.
