The strike by Gold, Silver and Diamond Merchants to prohibit the Excise Tax was concluded here on Saturday. As part of the three day strike by Gold Merchants, all the gold shops were closed voluntarily. Gold Merchant Representatives submitted the appeal letter to District Collector Neetu Kumari Prasad here on Saturday. Speaking on this, they stated that due to number of taxes, they are already suffering in their business and now introducing excise tax is burden for the merchants, he added. In order to demand for the prohibition of excise tax, nation-wide strike was held from past three days, he added. Association Representative Patnala Ramu, Anisetty Ramakrishna, Sunkara Srinu and others were present.
