Kakinada, Mar 11th: Air Commodore A.S. Bahal, Deputy Director General, NCC Directorate, Andhra Pradesh has said the percentage of girl cadets in NCC will be increased from the present 24 per cent to 33 per cent as Parliament is going to pass the Women's Reservation Bill.
Speaking to media persons after the two-day conference of NCC group commanders here on Thursday, Mr. Bahal said that Andhra Pradesh girls stood first as best senior wing cadets at the national level NCC camps. He said that out of 13 lakh NCC cadets in the country, 1.29 lakh were from the State.
He said Group Commanders discussed methodologies and mechanisms to be adopted by NCC in colleges and schools. They set an agenda of how NCC cadets would involve in rural development activities, how youth could be retained and recruited and join more numbers in NCC and third, how to increase the number of NCC cadets that can go into Armed Forces.
