Kakinada, Mar 15th: The two day program on ‘The Young Geotechnical Engineers Conference’, organized by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University was concluded on Sunday. The workshop was jointly taken up by Indian Geotechnical Society, Kakinada chapter and department of Civil Engineering, university campus college. For the program organized under the chairmanship of university principal Mr. G.V.R Prasad Raju, Geotechnical society president G.V Rao attended as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rao called upon the geotechnical students to identify the changing needs of the country as geotechnical plays an important role in civil engineering developments. He said that latest geotechnical methods will be of great help in the development of the country’s infrastructure. He asked the young engineers and the students to take help from JNTU Vice chancellor, Mr. Allam Apparao for the development of the geotechnical research. He also revealed that holding of such geotechnical conferences once in two years will yield good results in the field.
In this occasion prizes were given to the winners who submitted scientific papers. Best paper award was bagged by T. Venkata Bharat belonging to Bangalore, second prize goes to M. Ashok Kumar from Chennai and third prize was bagged by K. Subhadajantap. Program organizer K. Ramu, Murali Krishna, P. Udaya Bhaskar and many more participated.
