District Collector, Mr. M. Ravi Chandra inaugurated ‘Jana Avushadhi Generic Medical Shop’ on the premises of the Government General Hospital here on Monday. Stating that the objective of this medical shop was to ensure medicines at the reach of the poor, Collector said that the price variation would be anything between 50% to 80 % at ‘Jana Avushadhi' as compared to any other medical stores. Mr. Ravi Chandra said that medicines from 20 select pharmaceutical companies would be sold in the store, which would be managed by the Zilla Samaikhya of the District Rural Development Agency. He said that efforts were on to open another outlet in Rajahmundry soon and called upon the educated public to create awareness among the masses about the store. ZP Chairman Mr. Ch. Srinivasa Venugopalakrishna, DRDA Project Director Mr. K. Madhukar Babu and others were present.
