The transportation road of Anchorage Port (Langar Revu) in kakinada is completely wornout and has become very dangerous as 2-3 feet deep pits are formed. Every day four to five lorries, tractors are slipping down into these pits and causing damage to items like rice and corn, some times it is even causing severe damage and threat to life of drivers and workers as the vehicles are falling into the pits. With this Lorry Owners Association called on a strike on 11th of August. Concerned officers have given assurance to fullfill all their needs, even then they continued strike for the next two days. In this sequence the whole matter was brought to the notice of MLA Dwarampudi Chandra Sekhar. He reacted on this matter immediately and as a part of this he visited Port yesterday and conferenced with Port and Chamber officers, Staff, Workers and Lorry Owner Association and gathered Rs.10 Lakhs from MLA Fund, Rs.10 Lakhs from Port and Rs.10 Lakhs from C & F agents. He ordered port officers to start development works immediately with this Rs.30 Lakhs. MLA has assured them that he will definitely bring this matter to the notice of all the Ministers and CM and solve the issue as early as possible.
