Gas cylinder was exploded at Kothapeta Market here on Thursday night. According to Fire Office staff, AV Satti Babu has a business Sri Satya Srinivasa Enterprises wherein he deals with the servicing of gas stove and spare parts in Kothapeta market. However, he also deals with illegal transmission of gas from big cylinders to small cylinders. During filling of gas into small cylinder here on Thursday, pressure of gas was excessive and hence cylinder exploded. Due to this, Satti babu was severely injured. Hearing to the heavy sound of explosion, residents of Kothapeta market firstly ran away and later neighbors reached the incident spot. Staff of Fire Office, Salipeta reached immediately and controlled the fire. Town CI Mr. Ch.Ravi Kanth, II-town Inspector Mr. K.Mahendra investigated the incident spot.
