Four teenagers electrocuted

Kakinada, June 8th: Four teenagers died and two more sustained severe burn injuries in a fire mishap that took place on Sunday night at Mayapatnam of Uppada village, about 18 km from here. The deceased were identified as Chokka Sivaiah (15), Osipalli Raju (13), Kandala Raju (13) and Surada Durga Rao (15). The condition of the injured, Chodipalli Ramakrishna, and Gangari Kondanda is said to be critical. They were admitted in Kakinada government general hospital for treatment.

 

According to sources the incident took place in the early hours due to short circuit that occurred in the house of Chodipalli Ramu. He organizes tuition classes for youngsters in the village. On Sunday night the five teenagers along with Ramu slept in the same room after classes. The false ceiling caught fire and fell on the teenagers that resulted in severe injures and asphyxiation. All the six who sustained burn injuries were shifted to Government hospital in 108. Of them three died in the route and fourth succumbed to burns after he was admitted.

 

East Godavari superintendent of police (administration), S.J Janardhan and Kakinada sub-division police officer, B. Atchuta Rao visited the place of mishap. They filed the case for further investigation. Kakinada Revenue divisional officer, Mr. G.C Kishore Kumar assured the kin of the deceased and injured persons to provide help from the government.
