Kakinada, Nov 21st: Minster of state for road transport, highway and shipping Mr.K.H. Muniyappa has laid the foundation stone for road over bridge at pithapuram railway gate on Friday.
Addressing a public meeting after setting the stone for the bridge at pithapuram minister said that the government has released the funds for the expansion of National Highways to four and six to meet the needs of increasing traffic in the cities.
As a part of this expansion the bridge will be constructed and the NH-214 will be expanded to 4 lanes from the present 2 lane. Pallam Raju thanked Muniyappa for sanctioning the ROB at a cost of about 21 crore for this project.
The Government has decided to allow the private sectors participation in this National Highway Development Project (NHDP). Muniyappa praised the Chief Minister for taking up irrigation projects at a greater extend and said that the CM should be given another chance to serve the poor and to take up welfare programs.
Collector Mr.Gopalakrishna Dwivedi, Cooperative central bank chairman Kukkuteswara Rao, District congress president Venugopal Krishna and MLA Dorababu also participated in the meeting.
