Foundation stone was laid for indoor stadium here on Thursday morning 9:30am. This indoor stadium will be constructed with an expenditure of Rs.3.7 Crores provided by Old students of Kakinada JNTU. College Old student, District Collector Mr. M.Ravinchandra unveiled the stone slab. Speaking on this, Vice Chancellor of JNTU-K, Prof. Allam Apparao said that Rs.1 Crore fund was allocated. Other amount was provided from old students. This stadium was named as Alumini World Wide Indoor Stadium, he added. Rector, Mr. K.Satya Prasad stated, while he was Principal, there was a plan to construct the indoor stadium with an expenditure of Rs.4 Crores. Old students also donated huge amounts for the construction. However, his dream came true after a long time, he added. Registrar V.Ravindra, Director GVR Prasad Raju, Sports Secretary G.Syam Kumar, Director Padma Raju, Purnanandam, Santhi Prabha, Engineer Mohan Prasad, Old students participated in this program.
