Former Soldiers Relay Hunger Strike

National soldiers started a hunger strike under "National former soldiers coordinated union" at collectorate this Monday.  In accordance with government’s rule G.O number 743/63, 5 acres Un-irrigated land or 2.5 acres irrigated land have to be provided, but machinery of district is neglecting on this issue. Under Relay Hunger strike Society president M.Koteswarao addressed the news line that the machinery of government and district are behaving in very disrespectful way with the soldiers. In 2002 under Rajahmundry zone 79 former soldiers and under Samalakot zone 48 former soldiers already registered but there is no implementation till now. They already grieved in this way before and officers declared that they will look after this, till now there is no step forward he added. He also said at least now applications have to be verified as soon as possible and land must be allotted for eligible soldiers or else this hunger strike will become a serious issue later
