Dr. U. Venkateswarlu, IAS Joint Secretary of Food Processing Industry, Govt. of India, has laid a foundation stone for Food Technology Building at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada here on Friday. Speaking on this, Dr. Venkateswarulu said that the importance of the Food Technology is being increased day by day in the country. Later, JNTU-K Vice Chancellor, Dr. Tulasi Ramdas has said, a total of Rs. 1.89 crores will be the expense for this building, excluding that, Rs. 1.16 crores for laboratory equipments and Rs. 1.10 crores for Ministry of Technologies Funds are the expenses. He said, nearly Rs. 1.60 crores of funds are released by the university on this. Food Technology Laboratory will be established with International standards, he added. University Rector Dr. Satya Prasad, Registrar Mr. E. V. Prasad, Program Director Mr. P. Ramakrishna, Principal Mr. Padma Raju, Directors Mr. Purnanandam, Mr. Vijay Kumar and others participated in the program.
