Hyderabad, Sep 19th: Swine flu virus will be active in air till December end or January first week and the spread of HINI virus will slow down with the weather changes, said health experts. The officials are trying to import a new injectable drug, Peramavir that can be used to treat swine flu cases. Doctors suggested postponement of pregnancy for three months as pregnant and postnatal women are most vulnerable to the virus.
Heath official of Chest Hospital, Dr. K Subhakar said that out of 20 people who died of swine flu in the state, at least five were pregnant and post natal women. He suggested treating any person Oseltamavir as a preventive measure under guidance of doctor will not have ill effect. Heath experts have asked hospitals to improve critical ventilator care given to the patients. The biopsy of lungs of swine flu patients in Pune revealed that they were filled with fluid. Officials say use of inhaler drugs and injectable drugs can prevent that.
