Hyderabad, Aug 18th: The chest hospital on Tuesday installed rapid influenza testing kits. The step was taken after a large number of people started coming for checkups though they were not infected. It happened soon after the government opened eight new centers for the collection of samples for HINI virus. These kits will reduce the burden on the Chest Hospital for scanning and collecting the test samples of hundred of swine flu suspects every day.
Meanwhile the superintendent of the Gandhi Hospital, Dr. Ashok said the number of patients seeking the test had doubled and more than 850 persons were scanned on Tuesday. The Hyderabad DHMO, Dr. Ch. Jayakumari, said that they had collected the samples of two air passengers from West Asia with symptoms of influenza. She revealed that a review meeting will be held on Wednesday with heath officials and the members of the IMA.
