The District-level Flood Committee Meeting was held, here on Friday at Gowtami Meeting hall in Collectorate, Kakinada. Addressing the meeting, the District Collector reviewed about the issues pertaining to flood and cyclone relief and disaster management. She instructed the officials to be vigilant and take necessary precautions to face cylones, floods and other calamities during August  and September months. She said, the departments especially Revenue and Irrigation should get ready with necessary equipment like sand bags, life jackets and others. She suggested that the officials should arrange 50 life jackets in each Revenue division and sand bags as well. She asked the officials to identify the flood affected areas in the district. Jaggampet, Kirlampudi, Goneda and other villages may be hit by floods and officials concerned should take precautionary steps, she added. She also instructed the Fisheries department officials to prepare a list of boats and boat owners and maintain registers for their movements. She advised Tahsildars to draw up a plan of action in this matter. 'The meeting will be conducted again on 9th of July and the officials should get ready with all the works by that day', she noticed. In-charge JC and AJC Mr. Markhandeyulu, Sub Collector Mr. Gandham Chandrudu, DRO Mr. Yadagiri, SP Mr. Satyanarayana and other respective officials participated in the meeting.
