Fisherfolk to get safe water

Kakinada, July 23rd: As part of social responsibility the Reliance Industries Limited took up several welfare schemes at a cost of Rs 80 crore for 40,000 fisherfolk population in nine villages in the area of its offshore terminal at Peagadimoga in Tallarevu mandal of East Godavari. Apart from taking up protected water supply at a cost of about Rs 10 crore, Rs 13.75 crore was being spent on health care, Rs 24.41 crore on livelihood support like taking up employment generation activity for women self help groups.

 

The petroleum division is spending Rs 1.5 crore every year for educational assistance to merit students from economically backward sections in the district under the Reliance Dhirubhai Ambani Protsaham Scheme. In total till now 650 merit students were admitted to various corporate colleges in the district in Intermediate courses of their choice in the present and previous academic years. Students are also being given simultaneous coaching for Eamcet for taking up medical and engineering courses.
