Kakinada, June 10th: Under the Protsaham scheme introduced by East Godavari District Collector, Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwevedi, financial aid to the tune of Rs 1.23 lakh was given to three students on Tuesday. Reliance Industries is extending Rs 1 crore every year for this scheme and the same is named as Dhirubhai Ambani Protsaham scheme. The motto of this scheme was to divert the merit students towards education and stopping them to discontinue studies due to poverty.
An amount of Rs 50,000 was given to Jagadam Ramji for BDS studies, Rs 50,000 to an engineering student Ms V. Prajna and an amount of Rs 23,160 to K. Sravan Kumar for his IIIT studies. Collector promised to give aid to K. Chaitanya Kumar if needed after counseling. He secured best rank in the district in the recently announced Eamcet (Engineering and Medical Common Entrance Test) results.
